Dr. Christos Kourtellaris graduated from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2006, received an M.Sc. degree (distinction) on Communications and Signal Processing from Bristol University in 2007, and a Ph.D. degree from University of Cyprus in 2014. Following his PhD, he worked as a Post- Doctoral Fellow at the Texas A&M University in Qatar and University of Cyprus, and as a research associate at Technological University of Cyprus and European University of Cyprus. His research interests lie broadly within communications and information theory and span a range of topics. These include, among others, wireless channel modelling, capacity of channels and sources with memory, finite blocklength coding for wireless communication systems, and control for communication applications. He is the co-author of over 25 conference proceedings, book chapters and journal papers, and the co-inventor of one patent. Dr. Kourtellaris joined the KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence in January 2018.
